Providence Students

Children are the main reason all of us join forces to improve Earth Science education in our community. Quality education is the stepping stone for future possibilities and thriving, and we want all Providence students to have access to it, regardless of their socio-economic background, neighborhood or origin.

Our goal is to spark the love of learning and transmit the sense of wonder about our planet in the growing generation, so they can fully realize their potential, and in turn, grow up caring for our world.

Providence children deserve every bit of effort all of us can put into creating a better education system for our community. In 2017, only 10.7% of Providence students were proficient in science. The gap in achievement starts in elementary grades, only to widen in middle and high schools. We focus on elementary grades because we know that a solid foundation is needed to build further knowledge and readiness for college and professional life.

Elementary school children we work with are bright, curious and challenging and always motivate us to do better. Seeing our students progress through the lessons, start to ask more questions, connect the dots, have “aha” moments, and, most of all, start loving the process is the most rewarding part of our work.
