Providence Teachers

DEEPS STEP partners with Providence Public School teachers who work with us to bring Earth Science lessons into their classrooms. We are continuously humbled and inspired by the dedication, energy, patience and kindness of the teachers we are fortunate to collaborate with.

Two teachers sit at desks facilitating a program with elementary students. DEEPS STEP works in partnership with Providence Public School Department to assist teachers in their transition to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and 3 dimensions of learning. These new requirements put a significant burden on teachers who need to come up not only with adequate science lesson plans, but also shift to a much more multi-disciplinary and inquiry-driven learning approach. We hope that by working together during the two years of DEEPS STEP program we can help our teachers to establish a strong Earth Science curriculum in their classrooms that they can build upon in the following years.

We are deeply grateful to all our teacher-partners, past and present, who have worked with us, given us feedback, encouraged and helped us in their classrooms and above all continuously shown us what it takes to be a good teacher and mentor.
